The Dublin City Marathon was held on Sunday, October 27. We had 8 club athletes take on the challenge of racing the long 42km race. This is the highest number of entrants from our club in quite some time. We had some fine performances with 3 PB’s, 4 debuts and a Veteran Marathon runner.
First home for the club was Michael J Ryan in 2:43:47, he was followed by Michael Ryan 2:52:48 and Linda Grogan 2:54:19. What fantastic performances from all three. Superb quick times and all three got PB’s.
It should be noted it is not an easy task to break the 3 hour barrier. To have three out of 8 club members to do so is fantastic. Next we had Mairead Julian making a fantastic Marathon debut in 3:41:47. She was followed by PJ Holmes 3:55:49 completing another marathon. He has completed over 40 marathons. What an achievement.
Next we had three more athletes making their Marathon debuts Christina Fryday 4:14:34, Patricia Moloney 4:14:35 and PJ Collins 5:19:06. Congratulations from all of your club members.
