Brothers Pearse AC Notes – November 2, 2015

It would be difficult to mention all of the heroes from last Monday but here goes…..vian34.ru

Congrats to our ladies team of Karen Clarke, Sarah O’Meara and Sorcha Mc Cann who are the National Senior Team Silver medallists. This is a massive achievement and puts the club right up there with the best in the country. Well done ladies!

Well done to Mick Carolan on keeping his consecutive streak of Dublin Marathons despite his injury scares. Stephen Connon for leading us hone again!. Followed closely by Sean Mc Cann, Shane Cooney, Stephen O Sullivan, and Colm Costello. Special mention to Frank Fleming on smashing his PB by 9 minutes and his heroic finish.

Down through the field there were a number of people who achieved a PB – Paul Martin, Lisa Nagle, Austin Smyth, Karen McManus – who finally broke the 4 hour barrier after a number of close attempts. Well done to a number of marathon débutantes who really excelled on the day. Niamh Honer, who had a 7:30 negative split! Debbie Kelly, Denise Cross also ran a negative splits…all three ably led by Deirdre DoylePaddy Gibbons, Matthew Boylan, Deirdre Farrell and Nikki Rice also made impressive débuts.

I am sure I have left some important highlights out and apologies for this.Overall everyone of us finished and that in itself is a massive achievement and you should feel proud of this. This is a testament to the high standard of training plans in place but most of all the hard work put in by each an every runner.
