Here are some recent results from our senior athletesУстановка дверей
Congratulations to John Coughlan on a second place finish in the autumn open cross country race in the phoenix park.
We had great numbers and supporters for Kieran’s BHAA cross country race in Castleknock College on Saturday. Sean Mac, Kenny Andrews, Paul Farrell, Daragh Hanley, Paul Spollen, Paddy Parrott & John O’Neill all competed in the men’s 4mile, Sean & Kenny won their categories and Sean was second in the team event. Well done lads. Sharon Farrell had a great race in the women’s 2mile and Iveta who only came back very recently ran superbly too
Also on Saturday Dave Carroll & Kate O’Neill were in the Park Run in St Anne’s both with excellent times of which their coach I believe is pleasantly surprised, Mark Woodger & Barry took park in the inaugural Porterstown Parkrun and our PRO Ciara got a 5km PB in the Malahide Parkrun.
We had a men’s and women’s team in the Dublin novice cross country, Our men’s team finished 6th with Kieran, Kenny, Sean & Paul F all scoring, super finishes from Sean & Paul got us bumped up a few places, other members on the day were Paul Spollen, Michael & Podge. On the ladies team we had Ciara, Larina, Caroline & Sarah Wong. Great to see us with teams at that level.
Kieran (17.00), Paul F(17:07) & Michael (19:11) all raced very well in the Rathfarnham 5k
Paul Farrell was 2nd male in Catherina’s 5km race in Cavan, Catherina’s daughter Derbhla won the ladies in sub 20min. Eimear O’Leary ran the 5k too after the 100km cycle the day before
Upcoming races
This weekend we have the Leinster masters cross country in moyvalley, we have a men’s team submitted and it’s not a bad team either, Kieran, Sean Mac, Paul Farrell, Paul Spollen, Mark Woodger, Paddy Parrott & Mel are all down to run. Sharon Farrell is competing in the ladies race too.
Declan, Colm O’Grady and Sean Kildunne (injury permitting) are competing in the Dublin city marathon on bank holiday Monday and I think Ciara is the sole female competing so best of luck to you all, there’ll be a crowd of us stewarding in Castleknock so we will be roaring you all on.
The remembrance run is a nice 5km in early November and I think we will hopefully have a big entry of senior athletes for the Jingle Bells 5Km at the start of December
Training
Numbers at training are great, Eugene’s crew started back on the track in Santry on Wednesday October 7th and great numbers with Eugene & Charlie on Saturdays in the Park, thanks to Castleknock College for the use of their gym on Monday evenings
Finally our ladies’ captain is now an employee of the Run Hub in Ashtown so best of luck Sarah, don’t be shy with the discounts now ?
