Father Collins Parkrun 129 – 10.03.2018

Father Collins

After the Beast from the East led to our little parkrun being cancelled on the 3rd March all of us at Team Father Collins were all keen get back to business as usual…

Aoife had volunteered to step up to the plate and to wear the blue and white high viz Run Director’s jacket! Aoife is one of the friendliest ever run directors not just in our little parkrun but right across the country.

The miserable weather did little to dampen her enthusiasm as she warmly welcomed everyone to the event. Aoife has many strings to her bow; she is a wonderful mum, a keen runner; with a marathon and 100 parkruns in the bag and in her everyday life she is a primary school teacher –the perfect choice to step up as RD for one of the Saturdays that falls in Seachtain na Gaeilge (ironically enough SnaG lasts a full two weeks).

Chuir Aoife fáilte roimh chách agus cé go raibh an aimsir lofa bhí parkrun den scoith againn – mar is gnáth! Ghlac 67 daoine páirt agus thóg Aoife neart griangrafanna atá thuas ar facebook.

This week 67 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 9 were first timers and 12 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 8 different clubs took part. Well done the following participants on their PBs, we take our hats off to you!
