Father Collins parkrun Event number 146 7th July 2018

Another Saturday, another baking hot day in Costa del Father Collins Park for parkrun number 146. Run Director Rachel (the broken toe is on the road to recovery) brought her speakers and some water for everybody to have after the run which we plan to continue doing until this heatwave passes.

In total, we had 67 people who ran, jogged and walked the course. A big welcome to the 8 parkrunners who were first timers to our parkrun and we hope that you will all come back to us again in the near future. Well done to the 5 participants who recorded new Personal Bests in such heat. Representatives of 7 different clubs took part.

As always, we wouldn’t have any parkrun without our volunteers who make the event possible. This week we had 13 hi-vis heroes who were: Denis REIDY • Rachel MARKEY • Witek LOCHOWSKI • Linda SLATTERY • Sinead MORRISSEY • Anton SWEENEY • Ita O’HANLON • Raul PORTALES • Graham CLARE • Guus LEEUW • Roy MOONEY • Aidan CLARE • Raphael ARCENO

And a big thanks to everyone who have volunteered for next week’s parkrun as we’ve a full roster for next Saturday with Alan.

The full results and a complete event history can be found on the Father Collins parkrun Results Page.

The female record is held by Hannah OLDROYD who recorded a time of 17:30 on 18th June 2016 (event number 38).

The male record is held by Ray HYNES who recorded a time of 15:36 on 6th January 2018 (event number 121).

The Age Grade course record is held by Matt SHIELDS who recorded 88.68% (18:15) on 3rd October 2015 (event number 1).

Father Collins parkrun started on 3rd October 2015. Since then 2,010 participants have completed 10,103 parkruns covering a total distance of 50,515 km, including 1,858 new Personal Bests.
