First Buncrana park walk

This week we had a fantastic turnout of sixty participants and were delighted to welcome 24  walkers today for our inaugural park walk. Participants will have noticed the new specially designed markings on the course, kindly designed and made by Siobhan Kavanagh, one of our local volunteers, stencils with parkrun logos showing kilometre markings. Jason and Siobhan were helped in setting up the course by Elizabeth McDaid and Trina Mhic Donaill who accurately measured the distances. 60 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 24 were first timers and 9 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 6 different clubs took part.We had a great intro with Siobhan Quinn doing a warm up, and we were delighted to have music at the event,  with a boombox provided by our friend Marie Clare Hassett. We are planning to have music every week from now on so get your dancing feet on!

The event was made possible by 10 volunteers:

Jason LE MASURIER • Liz LE MASURIER • Eugenie CAVANAGH • Elizabeth MC DAID • Gloria MC GINLEY • Breege COLLINS • Michael COLLINS • Stephen DIGGIN • Alison BARDINI • Siobhan QUINN
