Following the late withdrawals of Molly Scott, Gina Akpe Moses, and Michael Keating, only two Irish athletes competed at the annual Meeting International d'Athlétisme de la Province de Liège.

The first to take to the starting blocks was Kilkenny native Cliodhna Manning in the Women’s 400m heats. Now based in Cardiff, Cliodhna continued her comeback with just her third outing at this distance since a long injury layoff. She finished 5th in a time of 53.70

Next up was the return of Euro Mixed Relay gold medalist and North Sligo AC clubman Christopher O’Donnell. Chris finished 3rd with a time of 46.04 seconds, over a second outside the Olympic standard of 45.00 seconds.

Meeting International d'Athlétisme de la Province de Liège Results

Cliodhna Manning – Women’s 400m – 5th – 53.70

Christopher O’Donnell – Men’s 400m – 3rd – 46.04
