Kelly Neely has more records in sight

Kelly Neely (City of Lisburn AC) shows no signs of resting on her laurels. Already a Masters World Champion, the mother of two has recently moved up into the F40 category.

In the winter she launched attacks on the Irish F40 indoor records, setting new marks in the 800m – 2:11.73, 1,500m – 4:23.36 and 3,000m – 9:38.42 before going on to finish 2nd lady overall in the Northern Irish 5K Road Championships in Belfast with a time of 17:06.

Now summer has arrived, Kelly has already set new outdoor Irish F40 records in the 800m – 2:09.83 and 1,500m – 4:23.17. There hopefully will be more to come.
Motherhood has brought new priorities, but this is a lady who continues to love her athletics. Her aims for 2019?

“Stay injury free plus continue to enjoy training and racing,” she says.
