Run Report, Saturday 18th July

We are off to a good start in Athlone with our 3rd parkrun this week! Its very encouraging to see our numbers slowly increasing with 118 people registered in Athlone to date. Until now, we’ve been keeping it relatively low key in order to iron out any difficulties with the course. We will continue working to make parkrun Athlone better, with your contributions through suggestions and volunteering helping us to improve. Please help spread the word about Athlone parkrun by telling your friends and family whether they run, jog, walk or volunteer, its a wonderful way to meet people and socialise.

A big word of thanks to our volunteers this week, without whom there would be no timing, no direction and ultimately, no parkrun! They were:

Alan O RIADA  •  Brendan KEHOE  •  Colette ANDERSON  •  Connor KELLY  •  David DOLAN  •  Enda KIERNAN  •  L BELOQUI  •  Peter O’BRIEN

A big thanks to Connor Kelly in particular, our youngest volunteer to date who did an absolutely stellar job!

You’ll find below the statistics for this weeks race. We look forward to seeing you all again this Saturday and if you can please sign up to volunteer!

Why do you run?? Check out “The Runners” on peoples motivations and thoughts once the blood starts moving…
