West Limerick AC – January 2015 Review

West Limerick AC

We returned to training in January and we had some huge turnouts at training on Tuesday nights with numbers between 50 and 60. This was a great way to start the new year and the enthusiasm was infectious.

We had seven club members set a world record in January. There was a world marathon relay record set in UL in aid of the Clionas Foundation. The magnificent seven were Eoin McAuliffe, Caroline Conroyomalley, Declan Guina, Edel Henriques, John O Shea, Paul Crotty and Sean McAuliffe.

Carmel Mac Domhnaill took the Munster Senior and Masters Indoors by storm as she won 3 gold medals and Niall O Riordan ran a very good race in the 3000m. A sign of things to come for Niall.

At the other end of the sporting spectrum we had Sheila Clavin completing the Art O Neill challenge in icey conditions in the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains. A tough endurance race.
