The Fields of Athenry 10K on 26 December 2025 is an annual 10km road race that takes place every St. Stephen’s Day.

The race starts behind the train station and finishes under the historic medieval arch in the heart of the town, the only surviving gate into what was once a walled town.
Over the last number of years this has become one of the leading road races in the country. As well as the 10km main event, there is also a 1km kids race that starts and finishes at the arch.
The event is hosted by Athenry AC.
