Thousands of runners took part in the sold-out Irish Life Frank Duffy 10 Mile in Phoenix Park today, the second event in the 2026 Irish Life Dublin Race Series.
First held in 1978 and named in memory of legendary Civil Service Harriers coach Frank Duffy, the race has been a fixture of the Irish road racing calendar for almost five decades.
Irish international Cormac Dalton (Mullingar Harriers A.C) dominated the men’s race, winning on his 10-mile debut in 49:17.
The 27-year-old, a member of Ireland’s European Cross Country silver medal-winning team in 2025, is considering a move towards longer distances as he looks ahead to the next Olympic cycle.
“With the LA Olympics coming up, you have to make decisions as to where your future lies and marathon running is in the plan. It's a natural move for me and this 10-mile felt quite comfortable. I've been based in Santry for three years now and running in the Phoenix Park is familiar terrain to me. I’m usually here on a Saturday morning anyway,” said Dalton.
Michael Brady (Raheny Shamrock A.C), winner of the Irish Life Fingal 10k last month, secured his second podium finish of the 2026 Irish Life Dublin Race Series, crossing the line in 50:06. With the race also incorporating the 2026 Dublin 10 Mile Road Championships, Brady claimed the Dublin title as the highest-placed club athlete from Dublin.
Neil Johnston (Annadale Striders A.C) completed the men’s podium in 52:27.
Maebh Brannigan (Galway City Harriers A.C) produced a strong performance to win the women’s race in a new 10-mile personal best of 56:59. The victory continues a strong season for Brannigan, who also finished second in the Dublin City Council Dublin Half Marathon earlier this year.
“I've had a great year. I had a breakthrough in March with my times and I've just been getting faster, so it's given me a lot of purpose and excitement with the sport,” said Brannigan.
Sarah Diamond (Kilcoole A.C) secured her second consecutive podium finish in the Irish Life Dublin Race Series, taking second place in 58:55. Pamela Kirk (RoadRunners A.C) finished third in 59:53.
The Irish Life Frank Duffy 10 Mile also saw runners across the field recognised by title sponsor Irish Life, with €50 milestone finisher prizes awarded to those finishing in 250th, 500th, 1,000th and 2,026th place.
Sports Direct, Dublin Marathon Group’s Official Pacing Team Partner, supported runners targeting finish times of 70, 80, 90 and 100 minutes.
The sold-out 2026 Irish Life Dublin Race Series concludes with the Irish Life Dublin Half Marathon in Phoenix Park on Sunday, 20th September 2026.
