Runners who can no longer take part in this year's Irish Life Dublin Marathon will be able to officially transfer their entry from tomorrow morning, with organisers also confirming a significantly longer transfer window than in previous years.
The official transfer window opens on Wednesday, 22nd July at 9:00am and will remain open until Wednesday, 23rd September at 11:59pm, giving runners an extra month to arrange a transfer compared to previous years.
For those entered in the Irish Life Dublin Half Marathon, the transfer window also opens at 9:00am on Wednesday, 22nd July, but closes earlier on Sunday, 23rd August at 11:59pm.
Organisers have reminded participants that entries can only be transferred during the official transfer window and that each entry can only be transferred once.
To ensure the new participant receives the correct race bib and all important event communications, transfers must be completed through the official Eventmaster transfer system.
Any entries transferred outside the official Eventmaster system will be cancelled.
For the marathon, the runner receiving the entry will pay a €20 transfer fee, plus any applicable platform and payment processing charges. For the half marathon, the transfer fee is €10, plus platform and payment processing charges.
With demand for places in the Dublin Marathon remaining as strong as ever, the transfer window provides an opportunity for runners who missed out on an entry to secure a legitimate place, while allowing those who can no longer take part to pass their entry on through the official process.
