he clock is running down for runners hoping to pass on or pick up a place in this year's Irish Life Dublin Marathon. The official transfer window closes at 11.59pm tomorrow, Wednesday September 23rd, just over a month before the race on Sunday October 25th.
There is one detail worth sorting out well before the deadline: the transfer is only complete when the new runner has accepted it and paid the fee. Sending the invitation on Wednesday night will not be enough if it is still sitting in their inbox at 11.59pm.
How to Transfer Your Dublin Marathon Entry
The runner who currently holds the place must log in to Eventmaster using the email address they registered with. From My Tickets, they should select their Irish Life Dublin Marathon 2026 order, choose TICKET TRANSFER, enter the new runner's name and correct email address, then select START TRANSFER.
The new runner will receive an email with a link to accept the place, provide their details and pay a €20 transfer fee, plus platform and payment processing charges. They must complete those steps by Wednesday's deadline.
The transfer can be made only once and cannot be reversed after it has been accepted and paid for. The original entrant does not receive a refund through this process. Any payment for the place itself must be agreed directly between the two runners.
Check the Entry Before Paying
Dublin Marathon organisers have warned of fake entries being advertised on social media. Anyone considering a transfer can use the official Eventmaster checker to verify an entry with the current holder's email address and order number.
The handover must still go through Eventmaster. Entries passed on outside the official system can be cancelled, and anyone running with another person's number risks disqualification. Good for Age entries and places bought through the official resale are not transferable.
