Entries are open for the 2027 Belfast City Marathon, with runners already able to secure their place on the start line for one of Ireland’s biggest mass participation running events.
The marathon returns on Sunday May 2nd, 2027, with the race getting under way at 9am from Stormont Estate before taking runners on a 26.2 mile journey across Belfast and finishing in Ormeau Park.
And anyone thinking about taking part may not want to leave the decision until the New Year.
The 2026 event sold out to the public months before race day, while organisers have specifically advised runners to enter early following a run of record sellouts. The 2026 Belfast City Marathon and Team Relay eventually attracted more than 23,000 participants, making it the biggest edition to date.
How Much Does the 2027 Belfast City Marathon Cost?
Entry for the full marathon currently costs £73 for registered athletics club members and £75 for unregistered runners.
Both entry options include a quarter zip top.
Those who would prefer to tackle the distance as part of a team can enter the Team Relay for £155 per team. The relay follows the marathon course, with five sections ranging from approximately 4.2 miles to 6.8 miles.
Online marathon entries are scheduled to remain available until April 16th, 2027, but that deadline will mean very little if places sell out beforehand. Given recent demand for Belfast events, getting in early would appear the safer bet.
