Dundrum AC saw their athletes take to the roads once again this weekend. Below is the report from Laura Armstrong.
CHARLEVILLE HALF MARATHON
The popular Charleville Half Marathon was held on Sunday, September 25 in Charleville, Co Cork. We had 6 athletes take on the long distance of 21km. It was a large field of 749 finishers and we had 6 athletes compete. First home for the club was Martin Keane 1:20:51. He was followed by Michael Moore 1:32:48, Michael O'Dwyer 1:34:24, Mary Keane 1:36:35, John Barry 1:44:31 and Pat Hayes 2:04:50. Dundrum AC would like to welcome and congratulate Michael O'Dwyer, John Barry and Pat Hayes on their debut run for the club. We are delighted to have ye as part of the club.
RATHFARNHAM 5K
In Dublin, the Rathfarnham 5k is a very popular and fast course that was held in Dublin on Sunday, September 25. This course is very fast with the Top 12 finishers running sub 15 mins in a field of 892 runners. Kevin Moore had an outstanding race for Dundrum AC to finish in podium position of 3rd in a new 5k Road PB of 14:33 (chip of 14:32). One second a piece separated the Top 3 finishers.
