Festive Fixtures!

Christmas is upon us, and we at Run Republic decided to bookmark a couple of festive races for your calendar if you feel the need to scratch that itch over the Christmas period.

We begin in Westmeath with the Kilbeggan St. Stephen’s Day 6km Fun Run. The popular annual race in the midlands takes place on December 26th and kicks off at 12 noon. ‘The race has grown in popularity each year and we are hoping for a good turn out again this year. Navan Athletics Club host the Rita & Robbie Christmas 5k on Wednesday, December 27th. Claremount Stadium welcome you to sign up and join in the festivities, which kicks off at 12 noon. Sign up here!

Saturday December 30th sees the D15RC Suicide Awareness 5k 2023 take place from the Sport Ireland Campus in Blanchardstown. The run starts at 9:30am and is in high demand due to the success of the event down the years. ‘Entry fee is €25 and includes race pack posted plus finishers medal on the day.’ You can register for this event here!

On the same day, the Ardagh 10 Mile & 5k Challenge takes place from the beautiful village of Ardagh in Co. Longford. The tenth instalment of this event sees cash prizes available on the day, and there is an event for runners of all abilities to enjoy with the addition of brand new races for this years event. The run options for 2023 include the ‘famed’ 10-mile Ardagh Challenge, as well as the 5k Challenge and the GAA Club 5k, all of which are chip timed. There are also non-chipped options for runners and families in the Ardagh 5k Challenge and the Primary School Mile fun run! Sign up here!

Finally, we have a New Year’s Eve race for you all to round off your 2023 as Grange Fermoy AC host their 10k Road Race.
