March 12, 2024

A team of eight athletes have been selected to represent Ireland at the World Cross Country Championships. The eight will fly the green flag on Saturday March 30th in Belgrade in Serbia.

The Women's 10,000m race will feature Fiona Everard (Bandon AC) and Danielle Donegan (Tullamore Harriers AC).

Meanwhile in the Men's 10,000m race Keelan Kilrehill (Moy Valley AC) and Hugh Armstrong (Ballina AC) will be in action.

Seamus Robinson (City of Derry Spartans AC) and Harry Colbert (Waterford AC) will be coming off the back of gold medal success from the Irish U20 Championships when they take on the 8,000m race.

Two green singlets will be on show in the U20 Women's race worn by Anna Gardiner (East Down AC) and Kirsty Maher (Moy Valley AC).

The Championships were re-awarded by the World Athletics Council after deciding that preparations at Medulin and Pula in Croatia to host the event on February 10th had "not advanced sufficiently”.
