Stunning Sights and Coastal Strides: Kilclief Ben Dearg Coastal Run Returns This Sunday

Set your sights on the shoreline, the Kilclief Ben Dearg Coastal Run is back this Sunday 13th July at 10:30am, bringing its signature mix of scenic views, local hospitality, and good vibes to the County Down coast. Entries are still open here

Offering both a 5K and a 10K option, this chip-timed, officially measured race isn’t just for the PB chasers. It’s for anyone who fancies a morning of sea air, stunning views, and a strong finish, followed by a cuppa, a biscuit, and maybe even a post-run sauna.

From Race to Recovery (and a Cuppa)
Sure, the run is the main draw, but what happens after might be even better. Finishers are greeted with a bespoke commemorative medal, some well-earned water, and a warm welcome back at the clubhouse. There’s tea, there’s biscuits, and there’s that unbeatable post-race buzz that only comes from a coastal trot well run.

And if you’re the sort of runner who enjoys a bit of post-race pampering (or punishment), Live Löyly will be stationed at the clubhouse with their mobile sauna and cold plunge – just £5 for the full wellness treatment. Bring your kit and prepare to sweat, shiver, and feel brand ne

Family & Community
This celebration of local pride and active living has something for everyone.  Regardless of whether you're slogging the 10K or taking on the 5K as a family (runners under 11 must be accompanied by an adult), the event is built around inclusivity. Every participant will receive a Linwoods Overnight Oats sample to refuel, because there’s no better recovery food than oats and no better place to eat them than in a GAA clubhouse full of smiling, medal-clad runners.

As the organisers put it:

The Kilclief Ben Dearg Coastal Run is about more than just kilometres and finish times, it’s about community, scenery, and creating a feel-good experience from start to finish. Whether you’re chasing a PB or just soaking up the views, we guarantee a run to remember.”
