Welcome back to Republic of Wanderlust! After our exhilarating journey through the vibrant streets of the Mexico City Marathon, this week we're heading to the heart of California's wine country to explore a race that combines athletic challenge with scenic beauty.

The Santa Rosa Marathon, set against the backdrop of Sonoma County's picturesque vineyards and rolling hills, offers runners a unique opportunity to experience the charm of Northern California. Imagine running through scenic downtown streets, along the Santa Rosa Creek, and past renowned wineries.

Race Details

  • Date: 24th August 2025
  • Start Time: Full Marathon: 6:30 AM; Half Marathon: 7:15 AM; 10K: 7:30 AM; 5K: 7:45 AM
  • Course Profile: The marathon course starts in Juilliard Park in downtown Santa Rosa, running through scenic downtown streets and along the Santa Rosa Creek. Runners then proceed through West Sonoma County, passing through De Loach Vineyards and their barrel room. The course is relatively flat, with gentle rises and falls, and features a mix of paved, natural surface, and gravel pathways. See full route profile here

    • Half Marathon (21.1 km): $117.27 through May 4th, 2025; $127.27 through June 1st, 2025; $137.27 through July 6th, 2025; $147.27 through August 10th, 2025; $157.27 until registration close
    • 10K: $72.77 through May 4th, 2025; $77.77 through June 1st, 2025; $82.77 through July 6th, 2025; $87.77 through August 10th, 2025; $92.77 until registration closes
