Eimear Maher Returns To Action In Copenhagen This Evening

Tonight’s Copenhagen Athletics Games will feature three Irish athletes across the middle distance events, with Eimear Maher returning to action in the women’s 1500m after continuing her strong 2026 campaign. Maher impressed at the pre programme races held alongside the Oslo Diamond League earlier this month, finishing 2nd and recording another solid season's best as she continues to build momentum during a breakthrough season. She will be looking to carry that form into Denmark against another competitive international field.

The Irish challenge does not end there. Abbie Sheridan lines up in the women's 3000m steeplechase. The St Peter's AC athlete claimed the Irish senior steeplechase title last season and has already clocked a 10:17.83 season's best in 2026.

Meanwhile, Colin P Smith takes his place in the men's mile. The Mullingar Harriers athlete arrives in excellent form after producing a huge breakthrough performance earlier this month, running a club record 3:40.55 for 1500m to win a British Milers Club Grand Prix race in Loughborough.

Below is everything you need to know, including Irish start times, streaming information and live results links:
