The Wanda Diamond League rolls into Rabat this evening as some of the world's premier athletes descend on Morocco for the latest stop on the elite track and field circuit. Ireland will be represented by two of its leading athletes, with Andrew Coscoran and Mark ENglish both set to compete in what promises to be another high quality night of action.

On balance, Coscoran has put together a very respectable 2026 campaign so far. He opened the year with solid performances in both New York and Boston, before breaking the Irish indoor 1500m record in France in February.
Tonight presents another major test, with the Irish record holder making his outdoor season debut against a quality field that includes American Vincent Ciattei, Norway's Narve Gilje Nordås, Belgium's Ruben Verheyden, France's Flavien Szot, Kenya's Festus Lagat and home favourites Fouad Messaoudi and Anass Essayi of Morocco.
Coscoran enters the race with a season's best of 3:33.09 and a personal best of 3:30.42, placing him firmly among the contenders in what could prove to be one of the quicker 1500m races on the Diamond League circuit so far this season.
Mark English returns to Diamond League action this evening for his second consecutive appearance on the circuit after producing a dramatic victory in Shanghai earlier this month.
The Donegal man stormed through the field in the closing metres to claim a memorable win in China, becoming the first Irish male athlete to win a Diamond League race and doing so in a meeting record time of 1:43.85.
English has enjoyed another strong 2026 campaign so far. Back in January, he broke his own Irish indoor 800m record in Luxembourg, clocking 1:44.65.
Tonight presents an even sterner challenge. The Irish record holder will face Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi of Kenya, Botswana's Kethobogile Haingura, France's Gabriel Tual, American Donovan Brazier, Belgium's Eliott Crestan and Great Britain's Max Burgin in what looks one of the strongest 800m fields assembled so far this season.
English enters the race with a season's best of 1:43.85 and a personal best of 1:43.37, and another strong performance would further underline what has already been an impressive start to his outdoor campaign.
