Day four of the European Athletics Championships brings another packed programme for Ireland, with two genuine medal contenders taking centre stage in Thursday evening’s finals.
Mark English will contest the men’s 800m final after winning his semi final in a championship record of 1:43.49, while Rhasidat Adeleke booked her place in the women’s 200m final with a superb semi final victory in a season best of 22.43. Both now carry major medal hopes into what promises to be a huge night for Irish athletics.
Before that, Marcus Lawler begins his men’s 200m campaign during the morning session, with Sophie Becker returning for the women’s 400m semi finals. Sean Aigboboh has already secured his place in the men’s 200m semi finals, where Lawler could join him later in the evening.
