It was another impressive week of performances for Tinryland AC athletes across multiple disciplines—road racing, track, and triathlon—with victories, podiums, and top finishes recorded at events around the country.
🏆 Mick Kelly Dominates Kilkenny Road Series
Mick Kelly capped off a stellar campaign in the Kilkenny Road Series, taking a commanding win in the final 6-mile stage with a solo run of 34:37, winning by nearly five minutes.
Mick’s consistency across the series—winning 4 of the 5 stages (2, 3, 4, and 6 miles)—secured him the overall title. A phenomenal effort from start to finish! 🔥🔥
🥈 Track & Field – SETU Carlow
At the Track and Field Live meet in SETU Carlow, Padraig Webb lined up in the 1-mile race, finishing 2nd behind training partner Niall Harvey, who clocked 4:29. Despite wet and windy conditions, Padraig ran a solid 4:37. Well done to both athletes for representing the club with distinction on the track.
🏃♂️ SLOT Fit for Life 3K Series
Tinryland AC had a strong presence at the latest SLOT Fit for Life 3K race:
- John Dillon showed strong race awareness, coming through the field to place 5th overall in 10:50, following a busy week of racing.
- PJ Blanche made his return with a 12:48 finish, and didn’t stop there—lining out again the next morning at the Tullow parkrun, where he clocked 23:00 for 5K.
- Orla Glancy took on pacemaking duties, finishing in 16:39 for 61st place, helping others hit their target times.
🏊♀️🚴♂️🏃 Tinryland Athletes at TriAthy
The club was also represented at this weekend’s TriAthy Triathlon:
- Pat Burke, a multi-talented athlete and GAA player with Baltinglass, took on the Sprint Triathlon, finishing 3rd in his age group and an outstanding 32nd overall out of 614 competitors.
- Gracie O’Reilly, a seasoned triathlete, competed in the T100 endurance race, putting in a strong performance to finish 12th in her age group—just outside the top 10 in a competitive field.
