Clontarf Half Marathon and Five Mile Postponed

The Joe Duffy BMW Clontarf Half Marathon and Five Mile, scheduled for Saturday 15th November, has been postponed following the Status Orange weather warning linked to the tail end of Storm Claudia. The expected coastal conditions made it impossible for the event to proceed safely.

With the route fully exposed and operations dependent on outdoor infrastructure, organisers confirmed that continuing was not permissible under safety guidance. The welfare of participants, volunteers, staff, and partners has been prioritised, and postponement was the only responsible decision.

A new date of Sunday 30th November has now been set. All existing race numbers remain valid for the rearranged event, so keep yours handy.

The race team are currently working through the logistics involved in rescheduling and have requested patience while updates are prepared. Direct communication will be issued soon, including guidance for those unable to attend the new date. Runners are asked to avoid emailing individually for now, as full details will be shared with all participants once confirmed.

The organisers thanked everyone for their understanding and support. Stay safe over the weekend and keep the training ticking along. The start line will be waiting in Clontarf very soon.
