Doneraile Steeplechase Road Race 10K

Doneraile, a picturesque village in North Cork, lies beside the Awbeg River and is home to Doneraile Court, once seat of the St. Ledger family. The surrounding parkland, now managed by the OPW, attracts up to 500,000 visitors annually with its scenic walks, wildlife, and historic charm. Doneraile is famed as the birthplace of the steeplechase, first run in 1752 from Buttevant to Doneraile. To commemorate this, a monument is planned, and a road race is being held to help fund it—offering participants a scenic run through history, heritage, and natural beauty in a truly unique setting.

All proceeds of this run will go towards the erection of a monument to commemorate the first steeplechase that took place in 1752 between Buttevant and Doneraile. All involved in this event are volunteers .
