Famine Way Ultra 50 Miles (Date TBC)

The Famine Way Ultra from 1 to 2 August 2026 is an approximately 105 mile point-to-point ultramarathon from Dublin to Strokestown, Co Roscommon.
This epic journey follows the footsteps of the Strokestown tenants, men, women and children who were marched from Roscommon to Dublin in 1847 after they failed to pay their rent.
The 2026 event travels in reverse, leaving Dublin at the point where they boarded the boats leaving Ireland on their journey to Liverpool and then on to North America.
The course is relatively traffic-free due to the route being beside the Royal Canal and is also relatively flat. In 2026 there is also a 50 mile option from Mullingar to Strokestown.
Entrants have 30 hours to complete the full distance, with a strict cutoff in place at the 50 mile mark. There will be fixed aid stations on route.
