The Galley Flash 9km Road Race & Walk Race 2026 will be held for the 1st time ever on the 5th of April 2026 (Easter Sunday morning).

The run will commence & finish in the Galley Flash Rowing Clubhouse (P85 VX23) on beautiful Kilkern Lake in Rathbarry on the outskirts of Rosscarbery & Clonakilty in West Cork, (Not far from Owenahincha and Long Strand beaches, 1.5km metres from the Fish Basket & Fishers Bar ).

Runners and walkers will make their along the road by the shores of the Long Strand & passing through the woods (2km) in Castlefreke on Easter Sunday morning way for finish line refreshments & prize-giving. Parts of the course will be challenging , but the sights will be more than breathtaking!

This run/walk will act as a fundraiser for the Galley Flash Rowing Club as we endeavour to purchase more boats for our underage club.

Entry Fee 16.50 euro (plus processing fee)

Officially measured course/Athletics Ireland Accredited.

Race Start and Finish at the Galley Flash Rowing Club.

Minimum entry age: 15 years and over are permitted to enter the race ( for insurance purposes).

Entry non-refundable/non-transferable.

All proceeds of the race are for the purchase of rowing boats for the Galley Flash Underage Rowing teams.

Please note for all races since 2023, the board of Athletics Ireland has established the requirement for all non-Athletics Ireland registered runners to purchase a One Day Licence (2 euro) during the registration process. This fee goes directly to Athletics Ireland not the race organisers. This fee does not apply to Athletics Ireland members
