🌲 2025 Craig Woods Trail Run – A Scenic Challenge in Tipperary 🏞️

Join us for the Craig Woods Trail Run in County Tipperary, offering runners a 9.5 km race with 270 meters of ascent through picturesque woods and varied terrain. This event promises moderate challenge levels, making it ideal for trail running enthusiasts.

⏰ Time: 11:00 AM
📍 Location: Craig Woods, County Tipperary

🎽 Event Overview:

Distance: 9.5 km with 270 meters of ascent

Difficulty: Moderate terrain, with 200m to 500m ascent

Race Marking: Only major junctions marked

GPS Allowed: No

💸 Entry Details:

Registration details will be available closer to the event.

Entries typically open a few weeks before the event.

🎽 Mandatory Kit:

Level A - Basic Kit:

Showerproof, windproof jacket

Note: The actual kit to be carried will be finalised on race day, depending on conditions. Failure to carry the required items may lead to disqualification, with random checks in place.

Directions:

From Cork:

Take exit 6 from the motorway for Thurles/Horse and Jockey.

Follow the signs to Horse and Jockey, then continue on R639.

Take a left for Littleton/Urlingford.

In Urlingford, turn right for Mullnahone and follow the road for approximately 3 miles until you reach Killcooley Abbey Wall (an old 11th-century Cistercian monastery).

After the wall, take a left towards Grange Village.

Parking is available at the Coffee Dock on the way into Grange (on the left-hand side).

From Portlaoise/Dublin Road:

Continue straight through Urlingford.

Take the last left for Mullnahone and follow the directions as above.

🎽 Route Description:
The course starts at the Coffee Dock in Grange Village and proceeds along a scenic woodland trail. The terrain offers a combination of forest paths and moderate ascents, making for a challenging yet enjoyable run. There will be minimal marking, so please ensure you follow the major junction markers as indicated.

🏅 Prizegiving Location:
Prizegiving will take place at the finish line. Details of post-race refreshments will be shared closer to the event.
