Inis Iron Meáin 5K

The Inis Iron Meáin on 2 May 2026 is an annual running race on the Aran Island of Inis Meáin in County Galway.
The race includes a 5km and 10km road race and a more difficult 12km route which includes a spectacular beach run along Ceann Gainnimh.
All courses mainly follow the same route and they are well marked and take in a large part of the island, with spectacular views and variation in terrain.
The 10K covers 10.5km of island roadway. The 12K course is the same, but at roughly the mid-way point, there is a turn-off which takes in a sand dune and beach run. This route then joins up again with the road route after 2 kilometres.
