Patsy Fitzsimons 5K Remembrance Run

5k Remembrance Run in honour of the late Patsy Fitzsimons. Patsy began his running journey in 1982 which spanned over 40 years right up until his sudden passing on April 16th 2024. He was a consistent presence clocking up times way above his age grade not just on the Navan scene but all over the country, completing numerous marathons, countless races and even as far as Lanzarote where he took home the title and trophy in the over 60’s 2012 Lanzarote International Challenge. 

Hail, rain or shine Patsy was a regular presence pounding the pavements around Co. Meath, the local Navan Park run and also a former member of South O Hanlon AC. He will always be remembered fondly for his support, sound advice and dedication not only to the running community but to all those who knew him while always embodying the phrase “Age is Only a Number”
