Prepare for an exhilarating experience at The Long Woman’s 5K — believed to be Ireland’s only downhill road race!

The 5K Route

The race starts near The Long Woman’s Grave and takes runners along one of the most breathtaking stretches of the Cooley Peninsula.

Enjoy a thrilling downhill run with spectacular views over Omeath Village, Carlingford Lough, and the Mourne Mountains, finishing with a fast and flat run into the village.

Event Information

•     Start Time: 7:30 pm

•     Transport to Start Line:

Buses for 5K runners and walkers depart promptly at 6:45 pm from outside Howes Bar. Please follow steward's instructions.

•     Parking:

Ample parking is available for participants and spectators. Follow the steward's directions.

•     Race Pack Collection:

From 5:00 pm on race day, outside The Grand Central Hotel, Omeath.

•     Hydration:

To reduce waste, participants are encouraged to be self-sufficient. A water station will be available at the finish line.
