United Striders Fit4Life – Couch to 5K
United Striders AC is delighted to launch our Fit4Life / Couch to 5K programme, part of Athletics Ireland’s nationwide initiative to help more people get active through walking, jogging, and running.
This 8-week programme is ideal for complete beginners or those returning to running after a break. Each session will be led by qualified Athletics Ireland Fit4Life Leaders and club volunteers, who will guide you safely through a structured plan from walking to running 5K.
By the end of the 8 weeks, participants will take part together in a local 5K celebration event to mark their achievement.
When: Wedneday Jan 7th, 2026– runs for 8 weeks
Where: Running Track, Town Park Track, New Ross
Time: 7pm
Duration: Approx. 45 mins per session
Cost: €20 per person (includes all sessions, high-viz vest, Athletics Ireland Fit4Life Buff, and an end-of-programme celebration event)
What to bring: Comfortable clothing, suitable footwear, water, and a willingness to get moving!
Who it’s for:
Adults new to running or returning after a break
Anyone looking for a fun, social, and non-competitive way to get fit
Open and inclusive to everyone — including newcomers to the area and people from all backgrounds

If you will answer yes to any of the questions on the form, please talk with your doctor BEFORE you take part in the Fit4Life programme. Tell your doctor of your intention to exercise and which questions you answered ‘yes’ to.
