🏃♂️ Two Distances. One Epic Coastline.
Mark your calendars, Saturday 20th September 2025 is your chance to run one of the most scenic races in Ireland, as the Céide Coast Atlantic Run makes its return along the rugged beauty of the Mayo coastline. Hosted by Ballycastle Athletics Club, this Half Marathon and 10K promises a full-on adventure set against the raw drama of the Wild Atlantic Way. And you can now enter.
The route launches from the Céide Fields Visitor Centre, where ancient history meets windswept cliffs, then heads through a patchwork of coastal views: rolling waves, vast skies, sandy stretches, and the spectacular Downpatrick Head sea stack. For anyone who’s ever wanted their long run to double as a postcard momentm this is it.
“We’re thrilled to welcome runners from all over to experience this unforgettable route,” says Race Director Joe Gardiner. “The Céide Coast Atlantic Run offers more than just a race — it’s a celebration of Ballycastle’s natural heritage and a chance to immerse yourself in the raw beauty of the Atlantic coastline.”
Whether you’re aiming for a personal best or planning to slow down and take it all in, this is a route that stays with you. With fully marked roads, a flat start, and a few rolling sections to keep things honest, both distances cater to competitive runners and casual adventurers alike.
