The shortlist for the 2025 World Athlete of the Year Awards has been unveiled, setting the stage for the season’s biggest honours in global athletics. Twelve finalists remain across six categories, each representing the very best from the track, field, and road.
The top two in each discipline were selected through an initial round of voting by the World Athletics Council, the wider athletics community, and fans on social media. Now, with just days to go before the grand ceremony in Monaco, public voting is open once again from the 4th to the 9th of November to help crown the overall male and female World Athletes of the Year.
