It’s crazy when you think about it. We’re in an era where you can sit at home, open a laptop, and watch an Irish athlete tear up the track in some obscure corner of Europe or even across the Atlantic, thanks to a livestream link and a small production crew. Between high-speed internet and the rise of smaller meets going digital, you can now follow everything from World Athletics Gold events to BMC races to some random meet in Estonia. And best of all? Chances are there’s someone from your own club, your county, or the national squad lining up.

And bearing all that in mind, this weekend is shaping up to be an absolute treat. Irish athletes are scattered across starting lists from Birmingham to Braga, and thanks to streaming links, you won’t miss a stride. Here’s a rundown of the meets you can stream this weekend where Irish athletes will be in action.

One small caveat before we dive in, these are athletes who appear on the starting lists, but as anyone who follows athletics knows, that’s not a guarantee they’ll actually race. Withdrawals happen, niggles flare up, and so on. So while this list gives you a solid guide, don’t be shocked if a few names quietly disappear before the gun goes. In some cases, you won’t even know until the camera pans down the track and someone’s lane is mysteriously empty.

That’s your weekend sorted, plenty to watch, plenty to follow, and no shortage of Irish interest across Europe and beyond. Just keep in mind the usual caveat: these are names taken from starting lists, not a sworn oath. Athletes can (and often do) withdraw last-minute, so don’t be too surprised if someone you’re watching out for doesn’t appear on the start line.

Still, there’s more than enough action to keep tabs on. Have a good one and enjoy the racing, wherever you’re watching from.
