Sarah Healy's Diamond League Finale - Start time and How to Watch

Sarah Healy lines up tonight's Diamond League finale in Zürich as the leader over 1500 metres, topping the standings with 23 points after a summer of consistent brilliance. The Irishwoman sits just ahead of Kenya’s Nelly Chepchirchir (22 points), with America’s Nikki Hiltz (17), Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay (16), and Australia’s Linden Hall (15) rounding out the top five. It’s elite company, and Healy has put herself right at the heart of it. Just over a week ago she was in Silesia, where ninth place in 3:57.95.
It has been an incredible year for the UCD AC athlete. Back in June she stormed to her first Diamond League victory in Rome, leaning on the line for a 3:59.17 that confirmed her place at the top level. Two weeks later she lowered her personal best to 3:57.15 in Paris, before heading to Eugene where she held her own again in a loaded field and then pulling another top three finish in London later in July.
Those performances have been the backbone of her summer, consistently under four minutes and establishing her as one of Europe’s leading middle-distance runners. It followed on from a European Indoor gold over 3000 metres in March, and an 8:27.02 lifetime best for the same distance outdoors in the Rabat Diamond League.
The Zürich final now offers the perfect tune-up for the fast approaching World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. Healy is already qualified thanks to her Paris time, and this evening will be a chance to test herself against the very best with the global stage only weeks away.
