WATCH: All Seven Events That Won Kate O’Connor Commonwealth Gold

Kate O'Connor produced one of the finest performances of her career to win Commonwealth Games heptathlon gold in Glasgow, finishing on 6,569 points after two outstanding days of competition.

From a strong opening over the hurdles to sealing the title with victory in the 800m, here are all seven events that carried the Newry and Dundalk athlete to Commonwealth glory.

100m Hurdles: A Solid Start

O'Connor opened her championships by finishing third in the faster of the two 100m hurdles heats in 13.54 seconds. The performance earned 1,044 points and left her third overall after the opening discipline, putting her firmly among the early contenders.

High Jump: Moving Into the Overall Lead for The First Time

The second event proved to be a turning point. O'Connor cleared a season's best 1.82m to finish joint first in the high jump, moving into the overall lead by just three points ahead of England's Jade O'Dowda.

Shot Put: Digging Deep in Difficult Conditions

Heavy rain made conditions extremely challenging during the evening session, but O'Connor limited the damage with a best throw of 12.85m. She slipped to second overall after the event, trailing O'Dowda by 25 points, but remained firmly in the hunt for gold.

200m: Responding Like a Champion

Champions respond under pressure, and O'Connor did exactly that. She won her 200m heat in 24.14 seconds through torrential rain, reclaiming the overall lead and ending day one with a 49 point advantage.

Long Jump: Extending the Advantage

Wednesday began with O'Connor producing the best long jump of the competition. Her final round leap of 6.37m stretched her lead to 84 points and put her in a commanding position heading into the closing disciplines.

Javelin: The Throw That Put Gold Within Reach

One of O'Connor's strongest events proved decisive once again. A superb opening throw of 52.85m earned 915 points and extended her lead to 258 points, leaving the title firmly in her own hands before the final event.

800m: Finishing the Job

With the championship within touching distance, O'Connor produced another outstanding run to cross the line first in 2:10.45. The victory secured Commonwealth Games gold with a winning total of 6,569 points and completed a memorable two day performance in Glasgow.

Birmingham Just Around the Corner

The Commonwealth title is another landmark achievement in O'Connor's career, but attention will quickly turn to next month's European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.

A much deeper field awaits, with the likes of Nafissatou Thiam, Saga Vanninen and, fitness permitting, Katarina Johnson Thompson expected to be among the contenders. After her performances in Glasgow, O'Connor heads there full of confidence as she looks to challenge for another major medal.
