Ballymena is buzzing with excitement as the much-anticipated Fairhill 5 Mile Road Race makes its return this evening, June 13, 2024, at 7pm. After five years away, the race is set to bring together the community for a night of running which has been well and truly missed.
Organised by the Ballymena Runners, in collaboration with the Fairhill Shopping Centre and several local businesses, the event has already seen over 400 participants sign up. This year’s race promises an array of prizes and post-race celebration that will make the night memorable for everyone involved.
Every participant who crosses the finish line will receive a commemorative medal. Winners will be celebrated in a special ceremony at the Fairhill Centre, adding a touch of prestige to the event.
For those who have already registered, race numbers were available for collection on Tuesday, June 11. Last-minute runners can still collect their numbers and timing chips from 5pm this evening, so fear not!
Runners will embark on a challenging course that winds through the heart of Ballymena town. Starting at the Broughshane Street entrance to the Fairhill Shopping Centre, the route will take participants through locations such as the Ballymena Showgrounds and the newly constructed FE College.
Free parking is available at the Fairhill Centre from 6pm until 9pm, making it convenient for those driving to the event.
After a half-decade long absence, the Fairhill Five-Miler is back and is certainly an event you don't want to miss.
