Club Report: Dundrum AC 10 Mile Road Championships and more

COUNTY 10 MILE ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS 

Dundrum AC's Barry Hartnett who won Bronze in the County 10 Mile Road Championship in Galbally.
The County 10 Mile Road Championships were held on Sunday, 30 July in Galbally and hosted by Mooreabbey Milers AC.  It was a wet day for racing. We had 12 athletes competing. In the womens race we had 4 competing. Dymphna Ryan continued her fine form to win the race and Gold in a quick time of 64:01.  Linda Grogan also had a great race to claim Bronze in 67:45. Next, we had 8th Karen Coughlan 75:36 and 9th Emily Leahy 76:56. Dymphna, Linda and Karen won Gold and the Cup in the team event. In the mens race we had 8 athletes competing. First home for the club and winning Bronze was Barry Hartnett 58:09. He was followed by 10th Tom O'Connell 62:40, 23rd Michael Ryan 67:03, 25th Gerry O'Neill 67:25, 31st Jim Halley 70:46, 36th Tony Delaney 72:15, 39th Liam Butler 79:22 and 51st Declan Hogan 80:34. This Declan's first race for the club and his first championship race. Barry,Tom, Michael and Gerry won Silver in the team event in the A Section.  Jim, Tony and Liam won Bronze in the team event in Section B.

GRANGE FERMOY 4 MILE
The Grange Fermoy 4 Mile was held on Friday,  July 21. We had one athlete compete. Barry Hartnett had a strong race to finish 8th in 21:56.

NATIONAL SENIOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS 
The National Senior Track and Field Championships were held over the weekend.  Kevin Moore qualified for the Senior A 5,000m. Great to see Kevin competing against the best on the country. Awaiting official results.
