MUNSTER NOVICE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Munster Novice Cross Country Championships were held on Sunday, October 23 in Riverstick, Co Cork. It was a though hilly course with some parts very muddy due to the recent rainfall. We had 7 athletes compete. The women's race was over 4k and we had 26th Karen Coughlan and 30th Mary Keane. The men's race was over 6k and we had 49th Eamonn Morrissey, 60th Martin Keane, 83rd Jim Hally, 84th Darren Allison and 101st Michael Moore.
MUNSTER EVEN AGE JUVENILE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Munster Even Age Juvenile Cross Country Championships were held on Sunday, October 23 in Riverstick Co Cork. We had 21 juveniles compete and all performed particularly well on what was a tough hilly course with some parts very muddy. We got off to a fantastic start in the Girls U10 with 9th Ellen Maher winning a Top 12 individual medal. Next we had 32nd Grace Butler, 39th Julie Morrissey and 45th Bella Curling. These 4 won the Bronze team medals. Next was 81st Shona Ryan, 95th Leah Shanahan and 114th Isobel Hartnett. Ellen, Grace, Julie and Bella were all on the county team that won the Bronze medals also. In our Boys U10 we only had one runner 130th Oran O'Dwyer. In the Girls U12 we had 15th Taylor O'Toole, 46th Katelyn Shanahan, 61st Molly Butler, 62nd Elisse Kelly, 71st Mia McCormack and 83rd Emma Morrissey. The team was 6th of the 17 club teams who competed. Taylor and Katelyn were on the county team that finished 4th. In the Boys U12 was 7th Albert Maher who won a Top 12 individual medal. He led home the county team that finished 4th. In the Girls U14 we had 45th Belle Kelly, 58th Anna Butler, 79th Clodagh Kilmartin and 95th Anna Ryan. The club team was 13th and Belle and Anna were on the county team that was 4th. In the Girls U16 we had 44th Ruby Maher and 49th Emma Kingston. Well done to all. Next event will be the Munster Uneven Age Juvenile Cross Country Championships in Limerick racecourse on November 6.
