Dundrum AC represented from Juveniles to Masters!

THE MUNSTER JUVENILE INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP 

The Munster Juvenile Indoor Championship for U/12 to U/19 athletes was held in Nenagh stadium over the weekend. We had nineteen girls competing on Saturday. In the girls U/12 we had ten athletes in action, Aisling Kinane, Bella Curling, Claire Morrissey, Julie Morrissey, Isobel Hartnett, Farran Ryan, Kayla Ryan, Ellen Maher, Emma Kelly and Isla McHugh. They all competed in the 600m. L/J and 60m Julie Morrissey who was 10th in the long jump with 3:62 and was 2nd in her heat of the 60m had a good day. In the 600m Ellen Maher recorded the best time of 2:06 when finishing 3rd in her heat and Farran Ryan won her heat in 2:14. Well done to all the girls. 

In the U/13 Girls we had four competitors. Aine O'Neill, Lilly Creedon, Katelyn Shanahan and Ruth O'Neill. All completed in the 60m where Lilly had the best result with a time of 9:46

In the Shot Putt which all four did, Aine O'Neill had the best throw of 6:19. Lilly, Katelyn and Ruth ran the 600m where Lilly had the best result with a time of 1:58 to finish 12th overall, Well done to the four girls. 

We had five girls competing at U/14. Taylor O'Toole had some good performances Running 2:51 for the 800m, 9:18 in the 60m to win the heat and qualify for the semi final and had a jump of 3:91 in the long jump to finish 13th overall. Emma Morrissey also competed in the 60m, L/J and 800m. 

We had three athletes making their competitive debut for the club Ciara Costello, Shauna Ryan and Sophie Hayes all competed in the 60m and long jump. Sophie and Shauna also ran the 800m. Well done to them and they will have gained from the experience. 

On Sunday we had just two boys competing. Patrick Casey in the U/12 jumped 3:30in the long jump and finished 22nd in the field of 42. He also ran the 60m. Albert Maher in the U14 boys ran the 800m in 2:34 to be 10th overall. He also competed in the long jump where he finished 11th and the 60m where he qualified for the semi final. 

MUNSTER MASTERS

In the Munster Masters O/65 John Moore took on the 3k race, finishing 3rd and taking the bronze medal.
Well done to all who competed. We now move on to the county indoor championships next weekend where we have a very large entry.


CLONMEL TRAIL HALF MARATHON

Clonmel Trail Half Marathon was held on Saturday 24th February. The weather conditions were ideal with it being a nice dry and sunny day. Starting and ending in the town, the challenging 21k route took on a mixture of open road, woods, fire roads and hills. We had one athlete take part, Barry Hartnett, continuing his fine form on the trails was 2nd overall in a time of 1.42.33. 

KINSALE 10 MILE

Kinsale 10 Mile took place on Sunday 25th February and is set in the beautiful surrounds of Kinsale town. Nearly 1000 athletes took part on a very wet and dull Sunday morning. We had one athlete travel to line out for the popular race. Richie Bresnan crossed the finish line in a time of 1.14. 

CURTIS LONDIS ADARE 10k

Hosted by West Limerick AC and this year they were celebrating their anniversary of 30 years on Sunday 25th February. Congratulations to all involved on a fantastic achievement, many of our club members have travelled to the lovely Adare to participate in this race throughout the years. We had one athlete compete; Val Farrell took on the course to finish in a time of 42.25. 

NENAGH 10k & HALF MARATHON

Two new races took place yesterday, Sunday 25th February in Nenagh. Both started at Train Station Road and finished at the Abbey Court Hotel. It was a very wet morning but the rain had stopped before the race commenced. Both courses had a mix of uphill and downhill stretches and had a lovely downhill finish. Dymphna Ryan took on the 10k route and WON the race in a fantastic time of 35.35. In the Half Marathon we had two Athletes take part, Linda Grogan who came 3rd in a time of 1.26 and Pat Hayes 2.10.
