Described as 'a beautiful running event on the banks of the Royal Canal', the Royal Canal Run Longford returns on April 20th 2024.
Tickets go on sale for this fast-selling event on Friday November 24th at midday, and Run Republic can reveal a code for discounted tickets: blackfriday24.
Run Republic spoke to the organisers to learn more about this ever popular event. 'This is year 7 of our event. It's based on the edge of Longford town. It's on a 5.2k loop on the canal. All tarmac surface 3m wide. Less than 100m incline on the marathon. We have different start times to keep the route busy at all times.'
The event began in 2015, but due to construction on the canal there was no race in 2019.
Due to Covid, there was no run for two more years, before the event made its return in 2022.
After a successful return to action in 2022 and 2023, runners are urged to get their tickets quickly, as only 850 entries are available and they sell out fast!
