Christmas is just around the corner and that means the annual GOAL Mile charity runs are taking place around Ireland over the festive period.
'Today, GOAL is active in 14 different countries, helping people whose lives and livelihoods have been shattered by conflict, disease and climate change.'
This year will see over 150 GOAL Mile events take place across the country, and there is also the option for people to run it virtually and support the great cause.
While speaking to David from Ardee & District Athletics Club, he told me that the club are once again hosting the GOAL Mile this year on St. Stephens Day, December 26th, between 10am and 12pm.
'We are really supportive of this event. It's a great fundraising opportunity for GOAL.
'We have been running a sanctuary run for three years now over the summer and felt it was good to get back to hosting the GOAL Mile for Christmas, and to make it a permanent part of our calendar!'
People can walk, run, or jog the GOAL Mile at any of the different locations this December and by signing up you will be joining thousands of people walking for GOAL this Christmas.
You can sign up to run any of the GOAL Mile events pre-event, but there is also the option to go and join the runners on the day.
