Andrew Egan Returns to Action in Czechia This Evening

National 400m silver medallist Andrew Egan returns to action this evening, contesting the men’s 300m at the Velká cena Chebu meeting in Czechia.

The Galway City Harriers sprinter travels to Cheb in winning form after clocking a season’s best of 46.15 over 400m in Poland last Wednesday.

That performance was one hundredth of a second quicker than the 46.16 he ran when finishing just four hundredths behind Jack Raftery in the Irish 400m final last month.

That narrow national final featured prominently when Egan spoke to Run Republic’s Paddy Ryan about his move to Zurich, his methodical approach to athletics and the work behind his rise through the Irish sprinting ranks.

Egan has raced over 300m once this season, setting a personal best of 33.35 in Switzerland in May. He is among the leading names entered tonight, alongside Czech sprinters Patrik Šorm, Vít Müller, Michal Rada and David Bix.
