Laura Nicholson (Bandon AC) lines up at the Cross Internacional de Italica in Spain this morning, with the women’s international race due to start at 10.40am Irish time.
The meeting takes place in Santiponce, near Seville, on a course within the archaeological site of the ancient Roman city of Itálica. Now in its 44th edition, the event holds World Athletics Cross Country Tour Gold status.
We featured Laura in an interview with Paddy Ryan earlier this year, covering her journey from Bandon through college athletics in America and her time training with Melbourne Track Club. She also spoke about the pressures of pursuing a professional contract and keeping her enjoyment of racing. You can read that here.
