National Marathon Champion Judith Storm To Share Her Remarkable Running Story At The Irish Running Show

Run Republic is a media partner of the Irish Running Show.

Dr Judith Storm of City of Derry Spartans AC has been confirmed as a speaker at the Irish Running Show, bringing the newly crowned national marathon champion to the RDS in Dublin on February 6th and 7th, 2027.

Storm will join the show’s speaker programme with a story that will strike a chord with runners who came to the sport later in life.

A mother of four, including triplets, she only took up running in 2022. Four years later, she was celebrating a national title on the streets of the capital.

A Remarkable Rise To A National Title

Storm secured her first national marathon title on October 25th, running 2:35:46 to finish 12 seconds ahead of Sorcha Nic Dhómhnaill of West Limerick AC.

Her victory came after a patient race and a strong second half, with Storm moving past the long time Irish leader inside the final 400 metres.

It capped a season of considerable progress. Having run 2:47:07 at the Dublin Marathon in 2025, she improved to 2:39:09 in Belfast in May before winning September’s Belfast Half Marathon in 1:14:14. Her return to Dublin brought another personal best and the biggest result of her running career.

Starting Running Later In Life

Storm joined City of Derry Spartans after moving from Belfast in 2022, with her children starting school opening up an opportunity to get involved.

That background gives her story an appeal beyond the results pages. For parents trying to make time for themselves, or adults wondering if they have left it too late to join a club, her route into running offers plenty of encouragement.

Alongside family life and training, Storm is a doctor and the founder of Dr Storm Skincare, a business centred on straightforward, personalised skincare.

A Weekend For The Running Community

The Irish Running Show will bring runners, brands, coaches, health professionals, clubs and race organisers together for two days at the RDS.

More than 100 brands will be at the show, alongside talks, interactive activities and yoga and Pilates for runners. Visitors can browse kit, speak to experts and meet representatives from races and clubs as they plan the year ahead. Children go free.

Storm’s addition to the programme gives those attending another reason to spend time at the talks, with the chance to hear from one of this autumn’s national champions.
