October Races Across Ireland You Can Still Enter

October Races Across Ireland You Can Still Enter

October is nearly here, and there is plenty of running to be done before the clocks go back. From local 5Ks and charity runs to coastal routes, trail races and full marathons, the calendar offers plenty of reasons to keep the training going as the evenings draw in.

For some runners, the month will be about getting the final long runs done before marathon day. For others, a short race followed by a cup of tea sounds like a much more sensible arrangement. There are options for both.

Below, we have rounded up a selection of October events from the Run Republic race calendar, divided into Leinster, Munster, Connacht and Ulster. Several events offer more than one distance, giving runners plenty of choice without having to commit to a full morning of questioning their life decisions.

Entry availability was checked this morning. Races can fill quickly, so follow the links for the latest details and book before making travel plans.

There is plenty here to keep October interesting, from a quick effort close to home to a weekend built around a race somewhere different. A coastal run in Kerry, a muddy outing in Castlewellan or a night run through Limerick all offer a good excuse to break up the usual routine.

As always, check the organiser’s latest information before entering or travelling. Entry deadlines can fall well before race day, and some events have age limits, fundraising requirements or other conditions.

If we have missed an event, email phil@runrepublic.com and we can get it added.
