An extreme mountain ultra in Waterford, part of the Munster Ultra League.

Difficulty: 10 (Extreme: >1,000 m ascent or >30 km)

Race Marking: Unmarked route – navigation skills required

GPS: Allowed and highly recommended

🎒 Mandatory Kit – Level C (Advanced):

Waterproof jacket with hood and taped seams

Hat or buff, gloves, whistle

Charged mobile phone (emergency number stored)

Foil blanket / bivvy bag, waterproof full leg cover

Means to carry ≥500 mL water, emergency food

📍 Route & Highlights:

Start/Finish: Mount Melleray Abbey

Mixture of mountain, rough terrain, forest roads, and tracks

Aid Stations & Cut-Offs:

15.5 km – Top of Vee Car Park – 10:30 am

38 km – Kilballyboy Woods – 2:00 pm

51 km – Road Crossing to Eastern Hills – 4:00 pm

66 km – Finish – 12-hour total cut-off

Course is not marked. Competitors must be competent in mountain navigation.

Mandatory kit will be strictly checked.

GPS/live tracking recommended; familiarise with GPX before race.

Cut-offs exist for runner safety and volunteer management. Missing a cut-off means withdrawal.

Aid stations provide water, sweets, chocolate, Coke, and encouragement ❤️.

This is a serious, self-sufficient mountain ultra. Only enter if prepared for navigation, extreme elevation, and long-distance mountain terrain.
