Waterford Viking Marathon

The annual Waterford Viking Marathon is from 20 to 21 June 2026 with a route starting and finishing in Ireland's oldest city.

As well as the full Marathon, there is also a Half Marathon and a 10km distance to choose from.

As you race, you'll pass stunning landmarks, including the majestic River Suir, and enjoy views of the lush Waterford countryside. And if you're running the half or full marathon you’ll also be treated to the vibrant colours and world-renowned beauty of Mount Congreve Gardens, known for their stunning landscapes and diverse plant collections.

2026 sees the addition of two new races with a Children's run with two distances (500m & 1km) held on the day prior to the main events, and an 8km Disability-Friendly Run which welcomes adults with disabilities to take part in an inclusive and accessible event.
